What is Taekwon-Do all about

2nd Degree Black Belt is also the level of 'Assistant Instructor' represented by the shoulder flash in the image above.

There is a 2 year gap until becoming eligible to grade for 3rd Degree. There are 3 new patterns to learn. You should also take this opportunity to practice more teaching and develop your skills.

Use the 2 years (that you have in between gradings) to educate yourself. Try not to rely on your Chief Instructor to 'spoon feed' you TKD info and find out and come up with ideas by yourself. Also, look out for courses for Black Belts i.e. Umpiring and Refereeing and try to attend on a colour belt grading panel to observe.

The 45 movements refer to his age when he changed the name of Dong Hak (Oriental culture) to Chondo Kyo (Heavenly way religion) in 1905. The diagram represents his Indomitable Spirit, displayed while dedicating himself to the prosperity of his nation.
